To speak and listen using your phone while still viewing the video meeting on your computer, you can have Google Meet call your phone or dial in from your device.
If you're not already in the meeting, your computer joins when your phone connects. If there are more than 5 people already in the meeting, you will join muted. You also join muted if your computer is muted before connecting.
If you’re in a different domain than the meeting owner and were not invited to the Google Calendar event, you must first join the video meeting and then someone in the meeting might need to approve you.
Choose an option:
If you’re in the meeting, click More Use a phone for audio.
From meet.google.com, select the meeting Join Ue a phone for audio. If you’re in a different domain than the meeting owner, someone in the meeting might need to approve you.
Click Dial in.
Select your country for a local dial-in number, if available.
Dial the number.
When prompted, enter the PIN #.
Hang up your phone or click Phone connected Disconnect in the meeting window. Audio resumes on your computer (and you’re automatically muted).
Click End call to completely disconnect from the meeting.
Click Connect phone or Reconnect to rejoin with your phone, which will be muted in the meeting. Use these options even if your phone is accidentally disconnected.
Note: If you close your laptop or the Meet browser tab, your phone stays connected but other participants will not see your video feed, just your profile image. To rejoin from your computer, you need to disconnect and rejoin the meeting.
